Bidding to Host the Shoot

The State Shoot moves between Oregon clubs, and the bylaws set what a club has to have done to put a bid in front of the Board of Directors.

Article VII: State Shoot Bid Requirements

As amended July 4, 2016

“The Oregon State ATA Trapshooting Championships will be held over the first full two-day weekend of June every year. Any club wishing to bid on holding the Oregon State must have held an ATA registered shoot within the twelve months prior to placing said bid. It is desired that the state shoot be held at locations having adequate traps and facilities as approved by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors shall have the right to reject any and all bids, and in the event there is no acceptable bid, the Board may choose to host the State Shoot themselves.”

Under revision

The membership voted in June 2021 to change the date rule from the first full two-day weekend of June to the second, and the published bylaws were never updated to match. Both the 2025 and the 2026 championships ran in July. The association is confirming the current text, so treat the article above as the 2016 wording rather than the rule in force.
